Bamboo farming in 1 acre profit cost subsidy

Growing bamboo for profit is possible when you know the average cost and estimated profit. Bamboo farming in 1 acre cost and profit is explained below deeply in this project report.

Bamboo plantation cost per acre

Cost for 5 years is given as bamboo takes 5 years to grow:

Bamboo plant price for farming = Rs 30 to Rs 100 as per the variety and quality.

Let’s assume 1 plant price = Rs 50.

Bamboo per acre = 500 plants.

500 plants cost = Rs 50 x 500 plants = Rs 25,000.

  • Fertilizer cost = Rs 15,000 (few fertilizer grow bamboo faster).
  • Plant care cost = Rs 10,000.
  • Drip irrigation cost = Rs 50,000.
  • Irrigation cost = Rs 15,000.
  • Labour cost = Rs 20,000.
  • Land preparation cost = Rs 10,000.
  • Plant protection charges = Rs 6000.

Total cost for 1st year = Rs 1,51,000.

Cost for 5 years = To get 5 years cost remove the one time investment cost then multiply with 4 years.

One time investment cost = Rs 50,000 (drip irrigation cost) + Rs 10,000 (land preparation cost) = Rs 60,000.

1st year cost (without drip and plant charges) = Rs 60,000 (1 time cost) – Rs 1,51,000 (1st year cost) = Rs 91,000.

4 year cost = 4 years x Rs 91,000 (1st year cost without drip & plant charges) = Rs 3,64,000.

To get the total 5 year cost now add 4 year cost (Rs 3,64,000) with 1st year cost Rs 1,51,000.

5 years total cost = Rs 3,64,000 (4 year cost) + Rs 1,51,000 (1st year cost).

Total cost for 5 years = Rs 5,15,000.

Bamboo plants multiply themselves if you have planted 500 plants then many branches will grow and become plants.

If 500 plants are planted; they become around 25,000 to 35,000 plants after 5 years.

Bamboo price = Rs 25, Rs 50 and Rs 100 per plant. This is the price of bamboo plants only, not sticks.

Suppose 500 plants produce 30,000 bamboo plants after 5 years.

  • Profit = Rs 50 x 30,000 plants = Rs 15,00000.
  • Net profit = Rs 5,15,000 (cost) – Rs 15,00000 (profit).
  • Net Profit = Rs 9,85,000.
