For the irrigation of rabi crops, preparations are being finalized to release water from other big ponds and dams in the canals of the district except Bilaspur. Water distributing committees are putting a good effort to finalize the release date. It is decided to release the water into the canals from the Moti Sagar Dam at Dhuna kala. On November 19 2021 the water will be released from the dam to canals to irrigate rabi crops. By doing this 7 villages will be benefited and more than 2000 hectare rabi crop will be irrigated in these villages.
According to the reports the average rainfall in the district in 2021 has been 100 mm more than usual rainfall that is 610 mm. This resulted in bringing 63% water to 33 dams and big ponds other than the Bisalpur dam. However, farmers might not get as much water as the Bisalpur dam but they will still get a huge benefit. farmers will be able to irrigate 35,000 hectares of crops.
Water releasing preparations
All preparations are almost done regarding water releasing from ponds and dams to canals. According to the report the canal has been completely cleaned and the irrigation department has made a good arrangement so that water can be distributed transparently without any theft. The help of the police will also be sought for this purpose.
Decision to release water
Water release decision was taken in the presence of SDM and Pradhan. The meeting of the water distribution committee was held on Thursday, 11.11.21 at Deoli Dak Bungalow. Water release decision from Moti Sagar dam to the canal has been taken in this meeting in front of officials of Bisalpur including Bharat Bhushan Goyal Pradhan Ganesham Jat.
It is also decided to release water from bhairu sagar of malpura region to the canals on 24 November.
